How to Prepare Yam and Garden Egg Stew – Check below the detailed procedure on how to make the tastiest Yam and Garden Egg Stew Recipe:



  1. Yam tuber
  2. Water
  3. Salt to taste.
  4. Eggs.


  1. Wash yam
  2. Peel and cut yam into preferred sizes into a saucepan.
  3. Wash yam thoroughly until squeaky clean.
  4. Add enough water to cook
  5. Add about 4 eggs based on your preference.
  6. Add enough salt to taste.
  7. Cover and place the pot on fire.
  8. Cook for about 15 to 20 mins until tender .
  9. Strain water from the yam and peel eggs and set aside.

  3. Onions
  4. One man thousand that is, fried crispy miniature fish.
  5. Boiled eggs
  6. Turkey berries(optional)
  7. Salted tilapia ( koobi)
  8. Tomatoes
  9. Chili
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Momone or salted fish



  1. Wash and slice each garden egg into two in a saucepan
  2. Add turkey berries, chili, koobi and enough water.
  3. Cover and place it on fire to cook until tender for 15mins
  4. Chop half onions and slice the other half.
  5. Wash the fresh tomatoes and roast it on fire for few minutes and set aside.
  6. In an asanka or earthenware bowl, add chopped onions and cooked chili and then grind until smooth.
  7. Now grind cooked turkey berries
  8. Roast momone or salted fish on fire for some few minutes and grind.
  9. Now chop roasted tomatoes and grind that too.
  10. Add cooked garden eggs and grind.
  11. Taste for salt and add if necessary.
  12. In a cooking pot, heat palm oil and add sliced onions and some chopped chili.
  13. Fry for a minute and pour it onto the grounded garden eggs.
  14. Stir with spoon until the oil is evenly distributed.
  15. Add peeled eggs and garnish with koobi and avocado.
  16. Enjoy with yam.
