How to make Ghana hibiscus drink (Sobolo)

How to make Ghana hibiscus drink (Sobolo) – Check below the detailed procedure on how to make the tastiest Sobolo Recipe:

Ingredients

  1. Two lemons
  2. Six cloves
  3. Four Selim cloves
  4. Ginger
  5. Whole pineapple
  6. Over ripened pineapple fruit
  7. Water
  8. Granulated sugar
  9. Two cups of hibiscus petals

Preparation

  1. Rinse hibiscus petals with clean water.
  2. Let it sit for some few minutes.
  3. Remove the petals.
  4. Rinse the petals one more time and repeat the process again.
  5. Wash whole pineapple and peel nicely. Do not discard the peels
  6. Cut the fruit into pieces and set aside
  7. Cut the peels into pieces and set aside too
  8. Add the washed hibiscus petals to the pineapple peels and add water. Let it steep for some time.
  9. Cut the over ripened pineapple and add to the not so ripened one you cut earlier.
  10. Juice two lemons and set aside
  11. Peel two fingers of ginger and cut into pieces and add to a blender
  12. Add cloves
  13. Then add two Selim or black pepper
  14. Blend all together and strain into a clean bowl with some sugar to taste
  15. Blend the pineapples with enough water and strain very well.
  16. Next, strain the lemon juice into the strained pineapple .
  17. Then lastly, strain the cooked hibiscus petals and stir altogether
  18. Taste for sugar and serve with ice.
